[ale] Looking for Linux 'Zoomin'"

MS Visual C++ includes a handy utility called Zoomin.  It will draw a
region of the screen into a window "zoomed in".  This makes it much
easier to check on the color and positioning of single-pixel lines and
elements.  Is there an X tool that does something similar?
