[ale] Xemacs question

Is anyone familiar with SuSE? I have been attempting to install Xemacs on SuSE
6.4, and have managed to fail miserably each time. I have done the install with
the rpm and with source, and each time It appears to succeed, but whenever  I
click on any of the buttons, I get an error like "Symbol is undefined" and
nothing works.
