[ale] hard drive issue

I have a Dell 410 workstation that has a drive partitioned in the following
fasion:
/dev/hdb1 /opt
/dev/hdb3 /home
/dev/hdb9 /usr
My problem is that /usr is giving me short read errors on four blocks when fsck
is run. Short of doing a tar and then mkfsing /usr, is there a way to fix
those errors?
Thanks
Jared
