[ale] Mail Question

I am using "mail" with a mailing list on an automated basis.

Using the following will get a message out to my email account:

mail -s "Topic for Today" bkruger at mindspring.com < topic.txt

In this example, topic.txt becomes the message.

My question is how I would attach a binary file as well.  As an example,
I have a file named "Book3.xls" that I would like to file attach as
well.  How would I be able to attach both the file topic.txt and the
file Book3.xls?
