[ale] ICQ and iptables?

My father is actually trying to use his box more and now wants to run
ICQ.  I'm trying to get the ports open on my firewall but something
is wrong.  According to tcpsump I need a source and destination ports
of 4000 open on udp, but I'm still not getting through.  Anyone have
any ideas or been through this?

Anyone have a good client for console?  I've found "micq".
