hi, I am trying to build a custom root disk, however I have a problem I am
sure that it will compress to fit on a floppy however when I follow the
directions from the bootdisk howto instead of compressing just the file I
need into the rootfs.gz file It compresses everything.
dd if=DEVICE bs=1k | gzip -v9 > rootfs.gz that's exactlly what it say to
do, and hdc1 is a 4meg partition on an ide zip drive, anyone got any ideas
for how I can compres just the stuff I need? Thanks
Ken
