[ale] Writing CD-ROM's

It looks like another batch of poor quality CD's. I get similar messages
with verbatim CD if I try and use the 4x write speed. 2x write gives fewer
errors. If I use single-speed write the errors go away. This is all on the
same CD or same batch. 

I have found that Ricoh Platinum's give (so far) perfect performance even
at 4x write speeds. This has been consistent over several batches. Highly
recommended!!
