FYI, for the cam/card I mentioned earlier on http://www.compgeeks.com ,
select the 'shop' icon and then the 'cobweb corner' icon from the shop
page.

Thing is, most of the latest web cams are usb and usb is not quite there
yet for Linux.  You really can't beat the old card/cam solution.  If you
have a video card that has an rca input, you could just get the camera
and plug it in.
