[ale] Linux on PalmPilot

I've wondered about the advantages of linux on a palm device for a while.  It seems that all of the best things about it are made moot.  I mean stability, virus free, multiusing, out of this world commandline, these arent things Id think you'd look for in a PDA, anyone explain this to me?
