I'm not aware of a PCMCIA modem that doesn't work with Linux. I've used
both my IBM Home and Away (with Ethernet too) and US Robotics PCMCIA modems
with success.

I'd advise checking out the PCMCIA HOWTO and the PCMCIA Linux homepage
(listed in the HOWTO IIRC) for more specifics. You can get to all the HOWTOs
from the Support Button on www.linux.org.
