Sorry to follow up my own post, but in reference to StarOffice I wrote:

I finally got on.  Their license is not all that free.  It is the
standard commercial one cpu license with no right of redistribution.
I hope that changes.  

I'd heard that some people have problems with the Sun community
license.  If this is an example of that license I can see why.
