[ale] gcc cannot create executables.

Hello,
	I am trying to install SSH on RH6.0 and during the .configure I am
receiving the following error:

checking whether the C compiler works...no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot
create executables

Any ideas?
