Well, it is usefull for X10 home automation.  I found the load so light, it
is just one (or two) process.  It also makes a usefull X-Term, if it has at
least a half-way good video card.

Also how about a router or firewall, great for any Internet connection.  If
you are not using DSL or Cable, then something like masqdialer or the like.
