ok, i know this :
tar zxpvf linux-x.y.z.tar.gz
and this:
tar xpvf linux-x.y.z.tar
 both work for a tar and tar.gz file, but

what do i do with this:

ide.2.2.13.19991104.patch.bz2
ide.2.2.13.19991104.patch.bz2.sign
ide.2.2.13.19991104.patch.gz
ide.2.2.13.19991104.patch.gz.sign

i need to use this patch to make my ulrta66 card and drive work.  most
files have a read me to tell me how to use the patch, but it does me no
good if i can't get to it. is there any gui i can use?
