Apparently, some members on the ale list have little humor AND have not
been following the thread of the mail bounce problem.

To clarify things:

Mail has been bouncing from a forwarded account. The bouncing server is
braindamaged and stripping headers so the alelist member can't be
identified and purged. A proposed solution was to send a single test
message to each member with a varying subject line. This is where the
monetary ammount came in. Eric used a little frustrated creativity to
have a little fun while performimg an needed, but unpleasant task.
Personally, I found it humourous. If someone on the list did not, well,
too bad. It was not intended to cause problems, but to fix one.
