[ale] Red Hat 6.1 sound problem

Hi All,
	Just recently upgraded to RH 6.1 from 6.0. I did a complete reformat 
and fresh install. I have been able to get cdrom sound to work (music 
cd's) however I cannot get any system sounds to work. I have enabled 
system sounds in the KDE setup menus.
	
	I used sndconfig from a xterm window (or something like that) to get 
sound setup. It gave me a warning about running it this way. I was 
able to set 6.0 sound up using this method without problem. Any ideas?
