I've been recompiling the Mandrake 6.0 kernel (2.2.9-27) in order to get
PCMCIA working on a laptop. I think I'm doing OK - I've got modules
compiled and installed and all that, and I've gotten my new kernel installed
(verified by checking date) and made sure lilo.conf points to the right
location. I did a "make zlilo" as well. Problem is, the old kernel is the
one that's booting (according to the text that appears at login time to the
right of the lame penguin). When I try to run LILO by hand, it tells me,
"kernel too big" (I presume it must have also sone this during the "make
zlilo" process but I didn't see it go by). This kernel is 486038 bytes,
smaller than the original. What have I done wrong?
