[ale] rpm single file extract

Hi All,

Being a slackware user, I am not all that familiar with rpm.  I was
posed a question by a friend as to extracting one file from an rpm
distribution.  The man page does not cover single file extraction, nor
the HOWTO.  Is this function available?, or will it be a full extraction
to an alternate directory and then copy the file in question?

RedHat 5.2 running kernel 2.2.3
rpm version 2.5.5
