Hello:
I am suddenly experiencing numerous disk errors (from var/log/messages):
Aug 28 20:33:38 blech kernel: hdb: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error }
Aug 28 20:33:38 blech kernel: hdb: read_intr: error=0x40 { UncorrectableError }, LBAsect=1053271, sector=1053208
Aug 28 20:33:38 blech kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev 03:41 (hdb), sector 1053208
etc.etc.etc.
Is there anything that will help repair or find and ignore these bad blocks?
e2fsck doesn't report any errors, and badblocks doesn't do anything. It is an
IDE drive. Should I just go buy a new one?
Thanks,
Irv Mullins
