Is there a recent free version of Micro/X? The one I tried a year ago
worked, but left me wanting - the price of freeware, I guess.

SuSE Linux includes MicroImages X Server for both 16 and 32 bit Windows and
also a version for MacOS on the SuSE 6.1 CD's.  This is a freeware X Server
that can also be found at <A HREF="http://www.microimages.com";>
