It is possible, but not easy, to setup netatalk and it's linux client
(name escapes me) to mount the shared apple volumns to the linux box. Once
mounted, back them up. A warning, it will be _SLOW_. We back up some Macs
to a Novell server and they are the bottleneck in the process of backing
up macs, NT, Irix, Linux machines.
Ah, to yearn for the day when all is good and Linux...
Of course, it may be easier to just get an external scsi tape drive...
