[ale] HP DeskJet 697C with Linux

Has anyone had any experience with the HP DeskJet 697C printer under
Linux? I note that the 69[01234]C are supported by GhostScript, but don't
know if there are enough differences between those and a 697C to keep the
latter from working properly.

Alternatively, what printers would you all recommend? I need an
inexpensive ( < $250 or so ), moderate image quality color inkjet printer
that does b/w quickly ( >= 5ppm ), as I'll only be printing spot color and
the occasional photograph. I was looking at the newer low-end Epson Stylus
printers (the Epson Stylus Color 440/640) - any experience with those
under Linux?
