[ale] removing write protection on zip disk

Hey folks:
Now I have Suse 5.3 loaded and since it has a newer kernel (2.0.35) it
recogizes the zip disk as an ATAPI floppy (hdd).
I can mount the disk but I can't write to it. Is there a tool like ziptool
that works for the newer ATAPI floppy zips?
