[ale] What's the difference from Ultra IDE and EIDE?

I've noticed fixed disks are now Ultra IDE instead of EIDE.  Are there
limitations to EIDE versus Ultra IDE?  Are they one in the same, or
just larger drives?  Does Linux support these Ultra IDE devices? 
Could someone shine a light on this for me?
