Ok,
My IDE bus has one drive, My 20x set as master. In my messages file
I have this:
Oct 1 23:20:50 dogbert kernel: PIIX4: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 21
Oct 1 23:20:50 dogbert kernel: PIIX4: not 100ative mode: will probe irqs later
Oct 1 23:20:50 dogbert kernel: ide0: BM-DMA at 0xd800-0xd807, BIOS settings: hda:DMA, hdb:pio
I have the IDE/ATAPI cdrom driver compiled into the kernel, not as a
module.
What's wrong?
{0}:dogbert:/root>mount /dev/hda /cdrom
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/hda as a block device
(maybe `insmod driver'?)
I get this even if I specify a type of filesystem.
