Hi ALE:
Is anyone out there using tkperl? If so, which version of perl and which
version of tkperl are you using? I am running RedHat 4.2 I am unable to
find the right combination of components that will work on my system. I
have perl-5.004-0.1. I suspect that this is the latest version that will
work on my 4.2 system due to library incompatabilities. I say that
because I tried to install a later version with rpm and received many
errors relating to shared libraries. perltk-800.004-1.i386.rpm will not
work with my version of perl. When trying to install, rpm displays:
failed dependencies:
/usr/bin/perl is needed by perltk-800.004-1
/usr/bin/perl is there, so I assume that the complaint is really a
complaint regarding the version of Perl that I have. I have also tried
compiling the source: Tk400.202.tar.gz. It compiles but fails when
testing it with the following:
/usr/bin/perl -I./blib/arch -I./blib/lib demos/widget
/usr/bin/perl: can't resolve symbol '__ctype'
/usr/bin/perl: can't resolve symbol '__iob'
Can't load './blib/arch/auto/Tk/Tk.so' for module Tk: Unable to resolve
symbol at /usr/lib/perl5/DynaLoader.pm line 140.
at blib/lib/Tk.pm line 40
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at demos/widget line 22.
make: *** [test_dynamic] Error 2
I've been working on this for two days. I be frustrated...
