[ale] newbie

Hello,

I am new to the list.  Just got a Red Hat 4.2 system running.  Have samba
running
between W95 machines and Linux server.  Also can access web thru a manual
dial on the Linux.  Have not figured out how to configure diald yet.

I have a preliminary annoying problem with amd   -- it hangs the machine
each
time it runs at boot.  It appears to be searching the local LAN for 40
seconds or so.
Checked a bunch of amd config stuff, it appears the same as another
friend's
machine.

Any ideas?
