[ale] DOS clients for Linux file server?

Hey all,

I was wondering what you'd recommend for a solution to my problem.  I need
to have a linux file server with free dos clients.  All I can think of so
far is using the lwared or mars_nwe (NetWare emulating daemons) servers on
Linux and novell clients. 

I'd prefer a different route (from past experience, mars isn't exactly
fast) if possible, however.  Anyone have better suggestions (e.g., know of
free nfs or smb clients for DOS)?
