[ale] Tape Drive Recommendations

I'm wondering what tape drives with capacity > 2GB people have had
success with running Linux.  I'm thinking of using a SCSI tape 
drive, (probably 4mm DAT) but I'll consider a big travan drive if they
are considered fast & reliable.  Are there any tape manufacturers to
avoid?   

Also, has anyone used BRU for backup?  What do you think of it as
opposed to other alternatives?
