Hello everyone.
First off, let me say that I am a new Linux user, but not unfamiliar with
Unix. I love the group and find it extremely helpful.
Recently I installed Red Hat 5.0 on an old 33MHz 486DX. I though it would
be fun to add a sound card for Doom and other games, plus to hack around
and generally waste time. The card I installed is a Digital Research
Advanced 16-bit plug and play sound card. I tried the sndconfig program,
but got a segmentation fault. When I ran it with the --noprobe option, it
simply didn't work. the file /etc/isapnp.conf, which according to the
manual, is not written, nor does it exist.
As I mentioned before, the sound card is a Digital Research 16 bit pnp
card. The settings on the card are the following:
I/O port 220
DMA-1 1
DMA-2 3
IRQ 5
Thank you for your help.
