[ale] egsc and Xemacs

Has anyone tried to compile Xemacs with the latest egsc compiler?  I was
thinking of downloading it to compile KDE because I heard that the compile times
were significantly shorter.

I'm still using Redhat 4.2 on an Intel machine though.  Should I upgrade to
Redhat 5.0 before I do this?
