[ale] cc on Irix

I'm trying to get the c compiler that comes with Irix (6.2) to work. 
(Actually to compile gcc ;). It is complaining about missing the library 
crt1.o (and who knows how many more). I've looked through the software 
manager, but I can't figure out where this library would be. Can  someone 
point me to the magic location of this library on the dist CD?
