Also keep in mind that if you spread your swap partitions
across devices you'll probably get better performance (just like
putting parts of your filesystem on different drives).
I personally have a ~32M swap partition and 64M RAM and have
never really had problems with things running out of memory (then
again, I haven't tried running quake2 while recompiling the kernel
either . . . :).
