Most likely yes. Each request is handled by a separate child
process, so having more processors to run children on would speed up
response time. Keep in mind though that with a fast enough box and
mostly static content the limiting factor is going to trend away from
CPU time towards your network bandwith (e.g. it does you no good to
stick a 16 processor ultra behind a 56k link :).
