[ale] terminal window

I've configured everything using debian's pppconfig.  However,  once
connected,  in this case, there are some additional prompts to pass
through so I needed to have a terminal window, to recieve events in.  Is
there some option I need to set in my /etc/ppp/peers/ispcon script or
something?
