[ale] inittab and agetty

I am setting up a PPP dialup server. I believe I have the PPP side setup
properly, but I'm not sure about the serial side. I have removed the
comments from the d1 and d2 lines in the inittab as follows:

# Serial lines
#s1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 19200 ttyS0 vt100
#s2:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 19200 ttyS1 vt100

# Dialup lines
d1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS0 vt100
d2:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -mt60 38400,19200,9600,2400,1200 ttyS1 vt100
  
The reason I think I am having problems is that I keep getting the
following messages in the /var/adm/messages file:

Sep  5 23:25:31 darkstar init: Id "d2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
Sep  5 23:27:57 darkstar init: Id "d1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes
Sep  5 23:40:55 darkstar init: Id "d2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5
minutes

Does anyone have any suggestions?
