[ale] SMB/Samba sppeed

Hello,

We use samba on a very limitied basis in our office. The speed is horrible (I'll see if I have
time to quantify it later). What kind of performance do you typically have and how can I
improve it. I'm using RedHat 4.2 with the newest version in the contrib directory.
