[ale] news sucks =)

I'm currently using suck to get news to my linux box, but i'm really not
very happy with it, and it's counterpart rpost.  is there a better program
to do this, that isn't so flaky?  i get errors with rpost about once a
week, (and i mean major ones, where news doesn't go out for days).
