do an ls -l /dev/mose

does it point to /dev/psuax?

If so, check the PCMCIA HOWTO.  There is an option on there to fix the 
pcmcia module from masking the IRQ....

I perfer serial mice, just cuz they work better, usually.  But ps2 mice 
are slight better for real estate.
