[ale] 3270 Scripting

I'm looking for a TN3270 type program that allows me to script or
program interaction between a Linux box and a mainframe over TCP/IP.
Searching the WWW I have found lots of products for Windows and Unix but
nothing that says it works under Linux.  I would really like to use this
for an excuse to set up a few Linux boxes at work.  I hope I don't need
to muck around in the source code of a 3270 emulator and write my own.
