[ale] APC UPS

I have read the UPS-HOWTO and the BUPS-HOWTO and have downloaded various
UPS packages to manage my APC BackUPS 450.  There doesn't seem to be any
concensus as to what type of cable to build.  I realize it varies depending
on implementations, but has anyone in this group successfully made a cable
for a BackUPS and been able to get it to work under Linux?  If so, please
email me some details.  Thanks,
