I continue to try to get linux to work on my ibm machine. So far X
does not work-perhaps it will after I install XFree86 3.2 and my
printer does not work on ascii files. It does work on groffed files.
Next I tried to format a floppy disc with
fdformat /dev/fd0h1440
It went thru the format for 80 sectors and then gave the message
Verifying 0
and then gave a large number of mysterious hex and decimal digits,
ending with read: I/O error
Can anyone help with this? I have grepped the faqs to no avail.
