[ale] Xaw3d

I just got the elf version, and installed it per the READMEs.  I have one 
small problem....ldconfig won't see libXaw.so.6

Everytime I run ldconfig, a file called Xwcslen gets created, as a 
symlink to libXaw3d.so.6.0

Is this a known bug?  Am I doing something wrong?

Any ideas?
