I suppose a makedev <major><minor> ttyp<#> would do it ...
but there are also ttyq, ttyr, ttys that i know of
and i'd guess that linux is smart enough to know how to follow the 
alphabet, too.  that might not be, tho ,si nce there isnt anything 
"really" there for it tow eork with.
if you want more tty<a#> then try makedev and variations on the 
major/minor #s on the existing tty's (after reading the documentation, fo 
course)
