[ale] re: ELF X?

I'm new to this ELF stuff so excuse the ignorance.  I followed the 
instructions in the ELF-HOWTO to upgrade my gcc and libc to ELF.  It works.
I can create either a.out or ELF binaries.  I then downloaded the new ELF
netscape and when I execute it, it complains that /lib/libXt.so.6 is not
an ELF lib.  So, since the libs I upgraded were libc, do I need to update
other libs also?  If I get an ELF X lib, does this mean my current X will
be broken.  I'm so confused......
