[ale] root telnet problem

Thanks to all who responded to my question about telneting as root.  It 
appears to be the case that the /etc/securetty file needs some extra 
entries in order to allow this (or I could just remove the file 
altogether).  I've been warned about security problems with telneting as 
root, so I probably, but if anybody else is interested, check the man 
pages for securetty and login.
