[ale] Red Hat installation question answered and a new bus mouse question

I never looked up what that message means, I figured it was pretty much
permament...  In the 10 or so installs I've done (10 different
machines) I have always gotten that mesage.  I think it more or less
indicates a full kernel.

Is gpm running?  If so, kill it before running X
