I do not believe it is the cables and termination.  I've had SCO and Solaris
to use scsi devices when Linux would not.  It may be something in the code
that could be causing it.  Hell, even dos worked with the devices.  If dos
works with it should'nt anything else.  I believe they may be some bad code 
in the kernel.
